Following SCOOOOOTCH!, created in 2021, Amélie Poirier continues her exploration of the performative and playful nature of interacting with objects. The show MAGNÉÉÉÉTIQUE brings the cassette tape—a vintage object (unknown to younger audiences)—back into the spotlight through two segments: SIDE A and SIDE B.

FACE B is a documentary theater and clowning solo performed by Marjorie Efther. The cassette tape becomes an oral archive to summon memories and past relationships. Mired in his everyday objects, locked inside a home he doesn’t want to leave, the character seems to be searching for ways to mend past conflictual relationships. By interrogating these phantom archives, the aim is to observe how we connect with others and repair relationships that seem broken.
