Presentationat the end of a 3-week training course in Chinese glove puppetry (Potehi) with Yeung Faï (China).

The students went on a real journey to discover the history of this technique and how it has been passed down from generation to generation, the repertoire, the basics of one- and two-handed manipulation and creative acting, the use of props, the manufacturing process, etc.

Born in Hong Kong in 1964, Yeung Faï was taught from the age of four by his father, a great Chinese puppet master who was persecuted during the Cultural Revolution. Somewhere between tradition and modernity, his shows speak of the China of yesterday and today, with virtuosity and finesse. In 2010, he created Hands Stories, a show based on his own story and that of his family. He performs in it with his student Yoann Pencolé, whom he met at ESNAM. Yeung Faï returns to ESNAM, almost 20 years after his first performance, to pass on the Chinese sheath technique to the students of the 14th class.
