The FMTM is getting organised, and it’s time to form teams! Welcoming artists, accommodating puppeteers from all over the world, guiding the public, serving in the bar or shop, providing transport… Take part in the adventure as a volunteer!

Hosting

If you’ve got a place to stay or a room to spare, please share it with the artists! A special feature of the Festival for over 50 years, home-stay accommodation offers an opportunity to meet and share with companies from all over the world.
NB: The artists’ meals are provided by the Festival in a dedicated venue.
The bonus skill :
– Offer a cup of coffee in the morning!
Companies welcome

Host the companies during the festival! This is your chance to discover artists from all over the world and meet people from all walks of life! Your job will be to guide the artists as soon as they arrive.
The bonus skill:
– Fluency in foreign languages
– Good knowledge of the town of Charleville-Mézières
Transport

Do you enjoy driving and having close contact with the artists? Choose the transport department. With the Festival vehicles, you’ll be in charge of transporting the companies between the airports, stations, accommodation, etc. and the Festival site.
The bonus skill:
– Get points on your driving licence!
Logistics

You’ll be given a range of tasks, including preparing rooms and fitting out dressing rooms.
The bonus skill:
– Be organised and rigorous
Ticket office

Based in the heart of the FMTM area, you will be responsible for selling tickets to the public. A ticketing service is dedicated exclusively to school audiences (and other groups), where you will assist teachers and accompanying adults in booking and purchasing shows.
The bonus skill:
– Knowing how to use computers
Indoor reception

Stationed at the entrances to the venues, you will welcome festival-goers, check tickets and help spectators settle in.
The bonus skill:
– Good reception skills
– Comfortable using digital tools (electronic ticket control)
Street support

Accompany the companies programmed in the public space and manage crowds during performances.
The bonus skill:
– Basic knowledge of several languages
– No fear of crowds
Artistic and cultural education

In direct contact with the puppeteers and the audience, you will be a support during the workshops organised during the FMTM. Help children and adults create their puppets and accompany the puppeteer.
The bonus skill:
– Enjoying contact with a variety of audiences
Info point

If you like being in contact with the public, this is the service for you! You’ll be on hand to give festival-goers all the practical information they need about the festival.
The bonus skill:
– Know everything there is to know about FMTM!
– Basic knowledge of several languages
Bookshop / Shop

Based in the heart of the town, on Place Ducale, you’ll be selling festival-goers merchandise and/or advising them on performing arts books. If you’re a salesperson at heart or a book lover, this is the ideal service!
The bonus skill:
– Be a good salesman!
Bar

At the Lebon Bar, the event’s party venue, you’ll be serving drinks to festival-goers.
The bonus skill:
– How to serve a beer with just the right amount of foam!
– Have some disguises in your cupboard
Catering

In the area dedicated to catering for the artistic and technical teams, and during meal times, you will check tickets and serve at the buffet.
The bonus skill:
– A sense of welcome
Meal delivery by bike

By bike, you will be responsible for collecting the artists’ meals and transporting them to their performance venues when necessary.
The bonus skill:
– A good pedal stroke
Communication

Assisting the communications department, you will be distributing communications materials to Charleville-Mézières businesses and helping to install FMTM signage.
The bonus skill:
– Be easy to talk to
– Good shoes for walking around town!
Scenography

Help build the sets for the different areas of the FMTM!

– Being creative
– Know how to handle a drill
