Before FMTM 2027, make way for Temps d’M!
From September 16 to 20, 2026, the Pôle International de la Marionnette – Jacques Félix (PIM) is organizing “Temps d’M.” With 23 puppet theater productions—totaling 65 performances—in theaters and public spaces, 4 puppet-making workshops, 4 professional networking events, artistic workshops, and social gatherings open to all audiences, Charleville-Mézières and the Ardennes will come alive for 5 days!
Since its inception, “Temps d’M” has given pride of place to artistic experimentation, notably through the presentation of “Hybridités.” This initiative allows puppeteers to collaborate with artists from other artistic fields (graphic illustration, video, dance, material arts, writing, photography, etc.) and to explore their respective forms of expression in pairs over an extended period before developing a shared artistic language. “Hybridités” thus stimulates creativity by harnessing the inherently transdisciplinary nature of puppetry. Two “Hybridités” will be specifically dedicated to playwriting, with, for the first time, the “Auteurs en tandem” program being extended to the puppetry arts, in partnership with ArtCena.
The second key theme of “Temps d’M” is youth and Europe! Let’s make way for the next generation of artists from our continent’s leading schools! By drawing on the participation of students from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts de la Marionnette (ESNAM) in Charleville-Mézières and guest puppeteers—whether still in school or recent graduates of leading European schools (Stuttgart in Germany, Levanger in Norway, Mons in Belgium, Tallinn in Estonia, and Kharkiv in Ukraine)— “Temps d’M” serves as a catalyst for encounters and a springboard for Europe’s younger generations.
Finally, echoing the spirit of experimentation that drives “Temps d’M,” this edition will highlight Research with a capital R. In cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and as part of the Priority Research Program and Facilities (PEPR) for the Creative and Cultural Industries led by the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), the “Têtes chercheuses” are opportunities to share the working processes of artists selected for the Ministry’s “Research in Theater and Associated Arts” program. In parallel, a roundtable discussion on the various forms of support for “creative research,” the public presentation of the “REVES” research project led by the PIM during the 2025/2026 season, and the hosting of a study day bringing together twelve doctoral students will definitively place Temps d’M at the heart of artistic and intellectual exchange.
Temps d’M promises to be rich, joyful, and rejuvenating!
See you from September 16 to 20, 2026, in Charleville-Mézières.
