The Pôle International de la Marionnette – Jacques Félix provides a year-round artistic presence in the region. It also offers participatory projects that bring local residents to the fore. Young and old alike contribute to a show, a walkabout, etc.

2023 – Tchangara

Tchangara is a giant who comes from the sacred forest of Côte d’Ivoire to deliver his message of ecology and peace to the world. In Charleville-Mézières, children from 4 schools became his and her ambassadors. The 9-metre-high puppet was handled by “initiates” from the Ivoire marionnettes company, in partnership with Ateliers Frappaz.

• Project in partnership with the SARC and André Dhotel social centers, the Joliot Curie, Mozart, Brossolette and Haybions schools, CADA l’Ancre and CADA AATM.
• Workshops to prepare for the giant’s arrival with three puppeteers: Marina Simonova, Arthur Hubert, Narguess Majd.
• Walkabouts in the streets of Charleville-Mézières during FMTM 2023, in the Ronde Couture and Houillère districts and on Place Ducale.
