Artistic crèches
The artistic crèche concept is unique in France, the fruit of a partnership between the Pôle International de la Marionnette – Jacques Félix and the CAF des Ardennes, initiated with the multi-accueil crèche Le Berceau d’Arthur. The crèches Moussaillons in Mouzon and the Cocon in Sedan then joined the adventure.
This is an opportunity for artists to create and experiment in contact with children, in a “research-action” dynamic through residencies and the presentation of shows suitable for toddlers. It’s also an opportunity for toddlers, educators and families to develop a taste for art, while stimulating cognitive development from an early age.
Residencies in Nurseries
The residencies in nurseries are open to professional puppetry artists working on projects intended for children aged 0 to 3 years. Puppetry may be explored in all its forms, including its intersections with other art disciplines.

A Traveller arrives with her kit house on her back and gradually sets up a house, a sort of itinerant refuge in full view of the children present. She builds her hut in full view of and in collaboration with the children, using the various materials that make it up: wooden strips, fabric, Plexiglas, paint, etc.

Notos le souffle du vent
Hosted by the Cocon (centre social ouest avenue) at Sedan.
Installation in 3 parts-3 breaths for young audiences. The residency will be an opportunity to test a music and image installation based on the theme of wind, breath, lightness and the elements. An ecological fable for the little ones, accompanied by a cello.

Déplacer des montagnes
Hosted by the Moussaillons at Mouzon.
Inspired by a geological fault, this miniature landscape installation is an invitation to pass beneath the earth’s crust, to slip into the crack, to compose, assemble, make and unmake the landscape, to literally move mountains. To cross the landscape is to transform it, to modify it, to leave a trace of one’s passage. The installation is made up of dozens of handmade objects in chestnut, cherry, pine and beech; inspired by the shape of Scandinavian runes, they represent humanist ideas and concepts, interlocking, dissociating and assembling ad infinitum.

Zébro is inspired by the company’s latest creation, Zèbres. It has been designed specifically to be performed in early childhood centres, media libraries, PMI, RAMs, and so on. In an intimate and enveloping scenic setting, a dancer will offer very young spectators a solo influenced by hip hop and contemporary dance.

What if for the next few minutes we had nothing to look forward to, nowhere to go, no end in sight?
What if we no longer wanted to go beyond the hands of the clock, but left the door open to a Nothing, a very small Nothing even… What imaginations and emotions might then emerge? Between the play of light and shadow, poetry and magic come to life. At the crossroads of the visual arts and live performance, the writing of this show was inspired by research and exploration carried out with toddlers and adults in early childhood centres.
