Around 1,000 shadow puppets and silhouettes from all over the world. The collection comprises a wide range of puppets, all very different in origin, period, technique and size.
Here are a few examples: Chinese girdle puppets, guignols, a Japanese puppet (Ningyo Joruri), water puppets from Viet Nam, Sicilian rod puppets, other rod puppets from Roubaix, string puppets from Burma, from Burma, Nepal and Sri Lanka, Indonesian rod puppets (wayang golek), shadow puppets from Indonesia (wayang kulit) and Turkey (Karagöz), various African puppets, Amerindian girdle puppets and more.
Heritage puppets can be loaned to museums or other organizations that have signed a partnership agreement with the Pôle International de la Marionnette – Jacques Félix. They are also used for exhibitions produced or designed by the Pôle.
