The company Les Nouveaux Ballets du Nord-Pas-de-Calais (France) was in residence from 2 to 6 February to work on its upcoming production, Cramée. A brief archaeology of a photographic drama, inspired by the work of the photographer Diane Arbus.

The programme of the residency: stage explorations led by director Amélie Poirier, alongside puppeteers and artistic collaborators Cristina Iosif and Kristina Dementeva — all three former students of ESNAM —, in constant dialogue with the work of the two visual artists involved in the project, Vaïssa Favereau and Audrey Robin, who are at work in the studios.

A show inspired by the work of the photographer Diane Arbus. The play begins with the end of the story – the photographer’s suicide – and unfolds in a sweeping rewind, like an investigation, without dialogue.
