Raphaëll Dupuy in “Tremplin residency” from 10 to 14 February 2025

Raphaëll Dupuy, a graduate of ESNAM’s 13ᵉ promotion in June 2024, is benefiting from a Tremplin residency at the Pôle International de la Marionnette from 10 to 14 February. This week of work will mark an important stage in the creation of his show Fleur Bleue (working title), which explores the love and power relationships between two characters through a series of numbers adapted from songs.
During his week-long residency, Raphaëll Dupuy will be experimenting with a range of puppetry techniques to identify those that best serve the theme of the chosen songs. He will use the puppets in the Instrumentarium of the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts de la Marionnette and Mathilde Peinetti (also a graduate of the 13th class) as an outside eye to further his work.

During my studies at ESNAM, I was able to invent short forms, little acts that combine the art of puppetry with my other artistic disciplines, such as dance, drag and music. I’d like to develop these performances further, with a view to making them into a whole, a hybrid, multi-disciplinary form. This encounter between the creature in drag and the puppet allows me to deal essentially with questions of gender, which are often at the heart of my artistic creations but also in my political battles.
