Traditionally, when calls for submissions were issued to determine the program for the Charleville-Mézières World Puppet Theater Festival, between 700 and 800 applications were received each year (half of which were from France).
While this high number reflects the admirable vitality of puppetry creation around the world and the undeniable appeal of the Festival, it is difficult to process all the information we receive in a consistent manner.

This is why we are discontinuing the call for applications as of the 2027 edition.

If you would like to bring your work to our attention, please send it by email to the following temporary address: programmation2027@marionnette.com
All emails will be considered, but we will not respond to them.
Please do not use this address to send us your newsletters.

It is put together by the director of the Pôle International de la Marionnette, Jacques Félix.
The Charleville-Mézières World Puppet Theater Festival is a festival of creations. Every two years, it presents a “snapshot” of the most demanding puppet theater creations on an international scale.
In this sense, the program features almost exclusively shows that are less than two years old.
Furthermore, puppet creation is so rich that the program must represent its wide range of techniques, skills (for all ages), and themes.
Of the approximately 80 artistic teams scheduled to perform, half will be French and half international.
Finally, we pay attention to the balance between female and male signatures in the shows.

To facilitate the work of the Pôle International de la Marionnette team, which is already extremely busy, please send your requests only to the email address indicated above.

To make your email easier to read, we recommend that you include the following in the subject line: the name of the company / the name of the show / the country in which the company is based.

In the email, we recommend that you send us:

  • Your artistic portfolio, specifying the capacity and minimum age for audience members, the date the show was created, and links to videos and photos that will not expire.
    – Your technical rider (or preliminary technical rider if the show is still in progress), clearly indicating the stage dimensions and set-up and strike times.
    – Your financial sheet, clearly indicating the number of people on tour

Telephone calls are not recommended.
Please contact us by email whenever possible.
