Final presentation of the course led by Jean-Michel D’Hoop: puppets brought into play in the world of tales

At the end of the workshop “Corps à conte, marionnettes portées mises en jeu dans l’univers du conte”, Jean-Michel D’Hoop, artistic director of the company Point Zéro (Belgium) proposes to introduce the work carried out with the students during 10 days through an open class.

At the heart of this workshop, it is the technique of articulated mouth puppet via an approach to the universe of tales that is explored, aiming to:

• Technical and physical mastery
• Developing stage presence
• Body and spatial awareness
• Refine your listening skills and critical eye
• Gaining autonomy and creativity
• Find your place in the group
• Linking technical tools to dramatic content and acting.

Learning modules that respond to each other
The aim is to link practices that respond to each other. For this 2^nd year, Jean-Michel D’Hoop’s work will respond to that of Einat Landais and Neville Tranter (construction and manipulation of muppets, in January 2026) as well as that of Philippe Bossard (ventriloquism, in November 2025 and February 2026). Parallel courses with Claire Heggen and Rafael Lopez-Barrantes will look at voice work and the relationship to musicality through movement and the body (March 2026).
