Who better than her to put the words (evils) of alcohol into words? The audience’s sensory perception is a major component of the production: a miniature puppet emerges from the darkness and moves feverishly on a string above the void, torn between stopping drinking and drinking again.

L’Isle aux Singe, the reverie of a mysterious music group, plunges into the Western imagery of monkeys and shares its journey with us. A musical, hallucinatory and sometimes grotesque ritual, L’Isle aux Singes uses a protean language borrowed from ethology, cinema and pop culture to invite us to return to the wild, where humans make way and observe.
