With the 2025 World Puppet Theatre Festival only 6 months away, we’re delighted to unveil the official poster for this year’s Festival!
In an explosion of colours and shapes, the puppeteer’s hand occupies the centre of the composition, like an essential guide in this fairytale world. Each thread pulled by the hand seems to be woven from the very essence of the show, linking the artist and his work, and symbolising the magic of puppet theatre. The poster invites us on a journey where the unexpected and the extraordinary meet, while paying tribute to the primordial role of the puppeteer, this magician of invisible strings, without whom nothing would exist. The strange shapes that emerge from this composition, a hybrid mix of mysterious-looking flowers and humanised balloons, echo the multiple worlds of object theatre, suggesting the countless facets of the art of puppetry.
The 23rd edition of the Festival Mondial des Théâtres de Marionnettes in Charleville-Mézières will take place from Friday, September 19, to Sunday, September 28, 2025. A major event in puppetry and the performing arts, it will bring together over 80 French and international companies.
