Joining the school
Admission to ESNAM is by entrance examination, held every three years. The next examination to join the 15th class (2027–2030) will take place from 15 to 21 April 2027.
Candidates must be aged between 18 and 26 on 30 June of the year of the competition. They must hold a baccalauréat or equivalent foreign qualification and have at least one year’s professional or pre-professional artistic experience (theatre, circus, dance, visual arts, etc.): proof of training at a conservatoire (CDR, CRR, CEPIT, etc.), in a professional school or training course or in preparation for the school entrance exam, work placements or work in a company, etc. in France or abroad; please note that holding a baccalauréat with a specialisation in ‘Theatre’ is not sufficient to provide proof of one year’s theatrical experience.
Applicants of all nationalities are eligible, provided they are fluent in French (level A2/B1).
Waivers of the age and diploma limits may be requested. These are examined by an internal committee.

1st round – Selection based on application files
Mid-February 2027
Announcement of the candidates admitted to the probationary workshop and the final exam (2nd round) > up to 32 candidates.
Notification letters will be sent out.
2nd round – Probationary workshop and final exam
15–21 April 2027
