What if Harpagon hoarded water instead of gold?

This is the zany challenge taken up by the Tàbola Rassa theatre company: to adapt the play of Molière by replacing the chest of coins with a precious supply of water and the characters with taps. Harpagon becomes an old copper tap; his son Cléante, a dry chrome tap; and La Flèche, a servant suspected of wanting to siphon off his master’s water.

True to the plot and its biting tone, this multi-award-winning object theatre adaptation, which has been performed all over the world, unfolds brilliantly against a backdrop of natural resource scarcity.

As part of Punch! Marionnettes en pleine formes, in partnership with the TCM, Théâtre de Charleville-Mézières.
