The Pôle International de la Marionnette – Jacques Félix hosts and supports research in the puppetry arts. Launched in 2025, the “Têtes chercheuses” initiative gives a platform to 11 recipients of the Ministry of Culture’s “Research in Theater and Related Arts” grant.

PART 1:

HERITAGE PRESERVATION

How do artists contribute to the process of preserving knowledge, objects, and practices as cultural heritage? The concept of transmission lies at the heart of the projects presented by the companies Projet D, Effigie(s) Théâtre, and Théâtre aux mains nues. Through documentation of artistic trajectories, creative processes, and archival research, this work expands the heritage of puppetry and consolidates a tangible and intangible heritage that can be passed on to practitioners in the field.

Artists and projects: Simon Moers and Tomoé Kokayashi, Projet D > Profane and Sacred
Renaud Robert, Effigie(s) Théâtre > Les Temporal and Their Puppets
Laurette Burgholzer, Pierre Blaise, Théâtre aux mains nues (TMN) > Building TMN’s Educational Heritage
Moderated by: Annabel Poincheval, inspector for theater at the Inspectorate of Artistic Creation
