Following SCOOOOOTCH!, created in 2021, Amélie Poirier continues her exploration of the performative and playful nature of interacting with objects. The show MAGNÉÉÉÉTIQUE brings the cassette tape—a vintage object (unknown to younger audiences)—back into the spotlight through two segments: SIDE A and SIDE B .

FACE A is a playful exploration of the audio cassette. Through dance, two performers explore the complexity of relationships (complicity, competition, manipulation, reconciliation) using the musical language specific to the cassette (play, pause, fast-forward). Little by little, the magnetic tape unfolds, shapes the space, and sets the bodies in motion. Echoing the performance, children are invited, before and after the show, to discover and engage with the cassette through interactive stations.
