Of Italian origin, Polichinelle belongs to one of the oldest forms of popular theater, known as Guaratelle. Philippe Saumont is one of the few French puppeteers to practice this art, which dates back more than 500 years and is passed down from master to apprentice. Trained in Naples under Bruno Leone, he has toured extensively around the world and received numerous international awards.
